Logistics Staff for the Swedish Armed Forces

The mission of the Swedish Armed Forces is to defend Sweden, our allies, and our freedom. Our mission requires a wide range of different capabilities. The Logistics Unit in Arvidsjaur supports the units at the Arvidsjaur garrison, in normal situations, security political crises, and armed attacks. The logistics unit is organized with a staff that coordinates the support and has two operational departments for supply and technical services. The logistics unit is a dynamic workplace with varied tasks and opportunities for personal development.

Main Responsibilities

The tasks are primarily administrative, but you will also move around among the different parts of the garrison and collaborate with units and personnel. You will handle and prepare mainly cases related to hazardous goods. As a staff member, you are expected to act as a staff member, which means that tasks outside your job area will frequently occur. The position includes training to the manager level within the area of hazardous goods (IFTEX/BVKF).

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Completed high school education or equivalent education deemed equivalent by the employer and can be verified.
  • Driving license *B.
  • Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily in Word and Excel.
  • You should be able to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

To succeed in this position, you need to thrive with a high degree of personal responsibility for both your own position and the advancement of the staff's work. You are expected to independently find solutions and see opportunities within the frameworks that govern the operation. Since the position involves contact with several internal and external actors, you also need to enjoy and be able to collaborate with and guide others.

MERITORIOUS

  • Experience in handling hazardous goods/flammable liquids/fuels (IFTEX/BVKF)
  • Experience in coordinating and planning work within supply or equivalent.
  • Good experience in administering, coordinating, developing, and maintaining internal routines using IT support systems.
  • Experience with the Armed Forces' support systems LIFT and PRIO.

Employment type: Permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.

Employment rate: Full-time, preferably daytime, but evening, night, and weekend shifts as well as on-call and standby may occur.
